Threats

First, let me apologize to the swell of readers that have come to this site after only a few days worth of posts. I'm sorry I haven't updated the site ... let me tell you why.

On May 20th, I received a very non-specific threat via comment. I assumed this was spam and continued to post. However, in the days since, the single threat has multiplied and increasingly, they are very specific in their direction and malice. I won't encourage the individual or individuals responsible by re-posting these vile messages. I've consulted with a few law enforcement officials as well as others who have been through this sort of cyber-bullying, and I've done quite a bit of soul searching myself about whether this site should go any further.

I'm not usually one to let outside threats sway my actions, but these threats have certainly raised my heart rate and blood pressure in the last few days. The threats specifically referenced not only the city in which I live, but my exact street address. This has also put my significant other in potential harm's way as well. Once more, I implore the responsible party to stop, if not for me, for this person's sake.

Obvious to me (and I hope to others) this site is a farce. It was meant as a gentle nudge against our politically-correct culture and as a way to generate a little fun between me and the anonymous web. But that has certainly backfired. If I had received comments about actually offending someone, that would be one thing, but the party or parties responsible have made it clear that their anger goes well beyond that.

Here's where I'm at today -- I'll be damned if I let a vocal minority scare me away (and surely, they will follow me even if I shut this site down) -- I'm asking for YOU to voice your opinion, please. I could really use some support right now, even if it's from totally random strangers.
